About the opportunity
The Global Logic and Reasoning Competition (GLRC) is an independent educational program coordinated by Edu.Harbour that tests abstract reasoning skills. Designed to engage students of all skill levels, GLRC focuses on deductive logic, probabilistic reasoning, causal reasoning, strategic reasoning, critical reading, and modeling & estimation. The competition is structured to prioritize the learning experience over pure competitiveness, utilizing experimental problem formats and real-world research topics. It takes place primarily online, making it globally accessible to students without requiring travel. Participants compete in three age groups (Junior, Youth, and Senior) across three rounds, with opportunities to earn international honours, national awards, and certificates.

Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- Students interested in abstract reasoning, deductive logic, and modeling.
- High school or university students seeking an accessible, remote-first international competition.
- Individuals motivated by skill-building and learning rather than purely competitive environments.
What should you think carefully about?
- The Semi-Final round requires a 12 EUR registration fee, though financial aid is available for those in need.
- Participants must be prepared for strict supervision during the Semi-Final and Final rounds.
- The competition schedule is fixed; you must ensure you are available for the specific exam dates in October and November 2026.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This competition is an excellent way to benchmark your analytical skills against a global cohort while gaining recognition through international honors. It serves as a low-stakes, high-reward environment to practice complex problem-solving and research-based modeling, which are highly transferable skills for future academic or professional pursuits.
Our take
Students looking to challenge their logical reasoning in a supportive, educational framework should apply. Those seeking a purely traditional, non-supervised contest may find the format less suitable.
