Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- A strong fit for data professionals with at least three years of experience in data management, statistical analysis, or geographic information systems (GIS).
- Ideal for candidates with a background or strong interest in humanitarian assistance, food security, vulnerability assessment, or socio-economic research.
- Well-suited for Spanish speakers looking to apply technical analytical skills within an international organization in Central America.
What should you think carefully about?
- This is a short-term 6-month service contract (SC5 level), meaning employment duration depends on operational needs and available funding.
- The position is physically located in San Salvador, El Salvador, requiring local residency or the ability to relocate independently.
- Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, and English is only an asset rather than a primary working language requirement.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain direct professional experience within the world's largest humanitarian organization, strengthening technical competencies in geospatial mapping, data analysis, and food security monitoring. It serves as a strong stepping stone for careers in international development, humanitarian logistics, and data-driven policy support.
Our take
Data specialists and GIS technicians with proficiency in Spanish and a passion for food security should seriously consider applying before the November deadline. It is less suitable for candidates seeking permanent employment contracts or those lacking the required three years of data processing experience.
