Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Early-career analysts or researchers focusing on African conflict contexts
  • Practitioners in humanitarian, policy, or security fields seeking formal analytical frameworks
  • Individuals comfortable with a 12-week remote learning commitment of 4-6 hours per week

What should you think carefully about?

  • The program requires consistent participation over the full 12-week cycle
  • Applicants must submit a writing sample and a statement of interest to be considered
  • The curriculum is specifically tailored to African conflict landscapes, which may be less relevant for those focused on other regions

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This fellowship serves as a valuable bridge for those looking to formalize their skills in risk assessment and intelligence analysis. It is perfect for someone aiming to build a professional analytical portfolio while gaining practical experience in evidence-based conflict research.

Our take

This is a strong fit for early-career professionals or students looking to specialize in African conflict analysis. Those seeking a broader global focus or who cannot commit to the weekly seminar structure should consider other options.
