Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- You are a current graduate student or recent graduate in communications, journalism, marketing, media studies, or graphic design looking to gain hands-on international organization experience.
- You possess strong bilingual proficiency in both English and Arabic, enabling you to draft and translate content across digital channels effectively.
- You have a demonstrated interest in sustainable development, knowledge societies, and public outreach within the Arab States region.
What should you think carefully about?
- The internship requires physical presence in Dubai, UAE, so you must be prepared for relocation and local living arrangements if you do not already reside there.
- The duration is fixed at three months, which is relatively short and requires a quick transition to make an immediate impact.
- While a monthly stipend is provided if you lack other funding, you should verify whether the local cost of living in Dubai aligns with the standard UNDP stipend rate for your personal financial planning.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This internship serves as an excellent stepping stone for individuals aiming to build a career in international development communications, United Nations agencies, or multilateral organizations. It provides structured exposure to digital campaign management, multilingual content creation, and global knowledge dissemination, making it a valuable addition to an early-career portfolio.
Our take
This role is ideal for bilingual communications students or recent graduates eager to apply their digital storytelling skills within a prominent international framework. Candidates unable to relocate to Dubai or those seeking long-term permanent positions immediately may find a short-term, in-person internship less aligned with their immediate employment goals.
