- Skilled tradespeople comfortable with remote, backcountry work environments and logistics.
- Candidates who can demonstrate both technical carpentry proficiency and a commitment to natural/cultural resource protection.
What should you think carefully about?
- This is a temporary, seasonal role with no government housing provided; you must be prepared to secure your own living arrangements in a remote location.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This position is an excellent opportunity for a skilled carpenter to gain federal experience while working in a unique, high-latitude environment. It is well-suited for someone seeking seasonal work that allows for deep engagement with Alaska's natural landscapes and cultural heritage, rather than a permanent office-based career.
Our take
Serious candidates should be those with established ties to the specified Alaska communities who are comfortable with the logistical challenges of remote field work. If you do not meet the specific local knowledge or residency requirements, you will likely be rated ineligible.
