Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Fluency in Pashto and Dari, combined with intermediate English proficiency.
  • Prior experience in humanitarian settings, particularly working with forcibly displaced populations.
  • Strong active listening and communication skills, essential for handling sensitive helpline inquiries.

What should you think carefully about?

  • The helpline operates seven days a week, meaning shift work is mandatory and schedules may change.
  • The contract is fixed-term until September 2026, with extensions dependent on performance and funding.
  • Applicants should be prepared for the emotional demands of working with vulnerable populations in a humanitarian context.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in humanitarian protection and accountability. It offers a direct way to support displaced populations while developing skills in data management and UN referral pathways.

Our take

An excellent fit for empathetic, multilingual candidates with humanitarian experience; less suitable for those who cannot commit to a demanding, rotating shift schedule.
