Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- Early-stage entrepreneurs or established business owners aged 18 to 35 operating within Nigeria's agricultural sector.
- Individuals focused specifically on maize, rice, soybean, or allied agrifood value chains looking for formal training to become investment-ready.
- Agripreneurs seeking direct exposure to banks, impact investors, and development finance institutions through a dedicated Deal Room.
What should you think carefully about?
- The application window is very short, spanning only from 8 October to 16 October 2026.
- Seed capital and six-month mentorship are competitively awarded to only ten winners out of the pool of finalists.
- Applicants must be available to participate in virtual training on 17 October and potentially in-person sessions in specific Nigerian states.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This contest is well-suited for young Nigerian agricultural innovators looking to rapidly build financial literacy, gain media and investor visibility, and secure early funding or structured mentorship for their ventures.
Our take
Nigerian youth actively building agribusinesses in the specified value chains should apply immediately before the October 16 deadline, especially those seeking investor connections and business skills development. Those outside the target age range or agricultural sub-sectors will find this opportunity unsuitable.
