Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- An ideal match for early-stage undergraduate students (targeting May 2029 graduation) seeking structured entry points into corporate finance and banking.
- A strong fit for individuals looking for direct pipelines into competitive corporate internships, as fellows receive an interview for a Summer 2028 internship.
- Well-suited for candidates eager to build leadership skills, work on real business case studies, and network with senior banking executives.
What should you think carefully about?
- Requires a strict commitment to a 40-hour work week throughout the 4-week program duration from June 14 to July 9.
- Involves a mandatory travel fly-in to Minneapolis, MN during the first week, requiring availability for relocation or travel during that period.
- The application window is short, and the posting may close early if applicant volume is high.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This fellowship serves as an excellent stepping stone for undergraduate students aiming to secure a foothold in the banking sector early in their academic journey. By combining hands-on technical tracks, executive mentorship, and an expedited path to a subsequent summer internship, it provides an intensive skills-building experience and clear career direction without requiring a long-term immediate commitment.
Our take
Undergraduate students graduating in May 2029 with a passion for finance and an interest in corporate banking should strongly consider applying. It is less suitable for students at other academic stages or those unable to commit to the specific June–July program dates and initial Minneapolis fly-in.
