Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Researchers or students at any level (Master's to mid-career) focusing on Africa.
  • Individuals affiliated with a university or research center in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, or Iceland.
  • Scholars who need access to the Nordic Africa Institute's library collections.

What should you think carefully about?

  • The scholarship does not include health insurance or other personal insurances.
  • Applicants must be based in the specified Nordic countries at the time of application and the stay.
  • The application requires a detailed research outline and a work plan.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This one-month stay is ideal for a researcher looking to dedicate focused time to library-based work and connect with the NAI research community. It is a great way to advance a specific project or thesis while benefiting from a fully-funded, supportive academic environment.

Our take

This is an excellent opportunity for Africa-focused scholars in the Nordic region. It is less suitable for those not affiliated with a Nordic university or those whose research does not require library access in Uppsala.
