Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • You possess a deep academic background in musicology and a passion for preserving musical heritage.
  • You enjoy a mix of technical tasks, such as digitization and registration, and public-facing work like exhibition planning.
  • You value a workplace that balances professional quality with an informal and humorous social atmosphere.

What should you think carefully about?

  • This is a part-time position (30 hours per week), which may not be suitable for those seeking full-time employment.
  • The role requires travel between different SDU campuses across Denmark.
  • Fluency in both Danish and English is essential for effective communication and collection management.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This role is ideal for a musicology professional looking to build a career in academic librarianship and archival management. It offers hands-on experience with specialized digital tools like Alma Digital and the opportunity to contribute to significant research projects. The flexible work arrangements and professional development benefits make it a sustainable choice for those seeking work-life balance while advancing their technical skills in the cultural heritage sector.

Our take

Seriously consider this if you are a music specialist with an interest in digital archiving and public engagement. It is less suitable for those who cannot communicate fluently in Danish or who require a full-time 37-hour contract.
