Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Current or eligible National Guard members seeking to leverage their intelligence background in a specialized operational support role.
  • Professionals with at least 36 months of experience in intelligence analysis, threat assessment, or military program management.
  • Individuals who already hold or are highly confident in their ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

What should you think carefully about?

  • This is an 'indefinite' appointment, which lacks the job security of a permanent federal position and carries a risk of separation with 30 days' notice.
  • The role requires active membership in the Wisconsin Air National Guard, which is a mandatory condition of employment.
  • The position involves specific physical and security requirements, including the ability to fly in aircraft and strict adherence to the Lautenberg Amendment.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This role is ideal for individuals looking to deepen their expertise in military intelligence operations while serving in a National Guard capacity. It provides a structured environment for professional development, mentorship, and federal benefits, making it a strong choice for those currently in or transitioning into the National Guard who want to apply their analytical skills to mission-critical air operations.

Our take

Candidates who meet the military membership and security clearance requirements should consider this role if they are comfortable with the indefinite nature of the appointment. It is less suitable for those seeking long-term, permanent federal job security or those who are not prepared to maintain active National Guard status.
