Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- Students from EAC Partner States seeking an international education experience in South Korea.
- High-achieving students who can maintain the required GPA to secure ongoing tuition waivers.
- Applicants who already meet the specific English proficiency and financial documentation requirements.
What should you think carefully about?
- This is a partial scholarship; applicants must be prepared to cover significant costs including airfare, meals, and health insurance.
- The financial requirement of showing over USD 16,000 in a bank account is a strict prerequisite for admission.
- The application process requires physical document submission via international courier (DHL), which involves additional costs and planning.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This opportunity is ideal for students aiming to gain an international degree in business or politics while experiencing the academic and cultural environment of South Korea. It serves as a structured pathway for East African students to access higher education abroad, provided they can manage the initial and ongoing financial commitments.
Our take
Serious candidates should ensure they have the required financial documentation and English test scores ready well before the 15 November 2026 deadline. It is less suitable for those without the means to cover the significant non-tuition expenses or those unable to meet the strict academic and financial criteria.
